Uh oh! November is here and the holidays are just around the corner ... don't stress, we have the Perfect Gift!

In addition to private, intimate family sessions - A Bunch of Smiles will be hosting TWO Holiday Quick Themed sessions, designed to capture the essence of the holiday spirits with your little sugarplums! Due to the popularity of these sessions, we've set aside two special dates this year!

Tuesday, November 24th from 9 am to 12 pm
&
Saturday, December 5th from 9 am to 1 pm (location on this session still to be determined. It will either be in the studio or at Primrose Preschool - 75th ave and Thunderbird)

Dress them in festive holiday apparel, PJs or even their favorite threads. There will also be plenty of holiday props to choose from!

Each photo session will be 15 minutes and is by appointment only. Spots are limited, so book your time today! Appointments will be scheduled on a first call, first served basis. Due to the popularity of these special sessions, a $20 non-refundable fee will be required to hold your appointment time. This fee will be applied to the package price upon completion. It is not however, refundable or transferable should you miss your appointment.

Package price is $40 and includes 1 pose, 1 child, and 2 sheet prints. Additional children are $10 each, additional sheets are $20 each.

Halloween is Coming!!

Most of you should know by now my favorite time of the year is Fall and I absolutely LOVE Halloween. Now that I have my own kids, Halloween has changed a bit with the focus on the kids and not me, but I still love this time of year!

I am having my next Saturday photo session on October 10th. The theme for this session is:

Celebrating Your Little Pumpkin with A Bunch of Smiles!

Packages start at $40 and include 2 sheet prints. Larger packages are available, as well as Photo cards and other miscellaneous gifts. The session fee includes one child, with a $10 fee per additional child in the image.

Sessions are booked every 15 minutes and are by appointment only - with the popularity of this session I suggest you call for your timeslot as soon as possible!

Due to the restrictive nature of these appointment times a $20 non-refundable fee will be required to hold your appointment time.

The background for the session is still being finalized, but I would love to have an outside set - weather permitting! You can bet that it will be a fall theme with leaves and pumpkins, though!!

I am so excited about this session and just love to see your little pumpkin(s) in their costumes or fall outfits. You are welcome to bring your child in regular clothes and then change them to their costumes here - good luck getting it off of them after the session though!!

Bryan - Celebrating Life Newborn

I just love this family!! I have been their photographer since Ysabella was 3 months old (she is now 4) . This family is so blessed to have such a wonderful baby. Bryan was so easy going and his brother (Bruss) and sister (Ysabella) were so great with him!

I had the honor of meeting Gabriel just 3 days after his birth. Both mom and dad were so great with him and we took quite a few images of how tiny he was (especially with dad). Gabriel (at that time just Baby Sal****) had much more on his mind than taking pictures so we decided to reschedule with just mom and baby (dad had to work) to get a few more better quality images of just him. So we met for the second time after his Bris and naming ceremony and we were delighted that he was feeling more photogenic that day.

Well many of you have asked, so we put together a quick little slideshow of one of Cherise's family photo sessions.
I originally hired Cherise to help me, help YOU, make your image decisions. I know how tough it is when there are so many good pics to choose from! So little did I know what a gem I was really getting! Cherise is a fantastic natural light photographer! She especially loves to photograph Families, children, and High School Seniors. Sooooo, if you were thinking you really wanted some great pics, but Brenda really only does studio work, well now we can answer that request with Cherise!

Valentines Day with Ava

Ava and I got to spend a wonderful, quiet, girls only valentines day this year together. Chad went up snowmobiling, and Tanner and Justin spent the weekend out with my parents. So what better to do then celebrate with a friend during her grand opening celebration of her new preschool - Primrose (Click here to find out more) and then have some fun in the studio! Ava was cutting teeth, so I got a little taste of the "fun" that goes into trying to get your child to cooperate for the camera.
Here are a few of the pics we got from our time together.

I love this picture. She just has the most precious look on her face and the biggest tear rolling down her cheek. So sweet.

This is Paige Babel. A 2 year old who is full of energy and life. Like any normal 2 year old, Paige found everything to play with and anything was more interesting than smiling for the camera. But I think we got some great shots of her and definitely ones that show off her personality, which I love to capture.

The Krich Family first came to us for their living art session. Erin was so beautiful then and I knew that as a new mom, she would be no different. They brought in baby Chloe for her newborn portraits last week and the session turned out some beautiful portraits. Chloe is so loved and adored by her parents, it's really incredible to see! I am so glad they came in and I can't wait to photograph little Chloe as she grows and develops throughout her first year!

The Beyette Family

It's Twins! Elisa is expecting twins and will welcoming her bundles of joy later this month. I am so glad that we were able to get her in before she delivered. I think that the pregnant body is so beautiful and Elisa's was no exception. She is a beautiful woman and is so excited about bringing home her little boys. I can't tell you how much I enjoy photographing newborns. They are so precious and tiny and Connor was no exception. He came to us at only 4 days old cause his dad was getting ready to leave for Iraq and he was only in town for a couple of days for the birth. Usually newborns sleep alot, especially when they come to us so young. But Connor decided he wanted to see the world so we let him. We also will be doing an additional shoot for connor to see if we can get a few more sleeping baby shots so check back for the part 2! Enjoy!

This little girl was adorable! We met the Haupt family up in the DC Ranch area and had a blast. Chloe was so full of energy and wanted to explore everywhere. So, of course I followed. I love this style of photography because it is so realistic. I just let Chloe do whatever she wanted and I think I really captured her personality. I hope you enjoy!

OK, this might be a tear jerker. We had the privilege of photographing Tate's mom during her pregnancy and got some amazing photographs. Shortly after giving birth to Tate, She passed away, so her husband took one of the images from her maternity session and had a tattoo created in her memory. The Hoffmans came to us from our ad in "The Bump", a maternity magazine, and I'm glad they did. First, Julie has one of the most perfect pregnancy bellies I have seen in a long time. Kids...You gotta love them, and then sometimes you gotta just laugh. Chad and I were struggling with laying our downstairs tile so I asked Tanner and Justin to stay in the living room with Ava and keep an eye on her while I helped daddy with the tile. Next thing I knew I could hear Justin outside playing and Tanner was standing next to me. "Who's keeping an eye on Ava?" I had a sneaking suspiscion so I grabbed the flip video and caught her in the act - something I will be able to laugh at for years (thankgoodness!!). Needless to say we won't be asking our 7 and 5 year olds to keep any eye anymore.

She is so proud of herself...YUCK!

No, I'm not pregnant again...I am just excited to announce a new addition to A Bunch of Smiles. Cherise Kiel has joined our team and we are very excited about what she has to offer. Cherise is a very talented photographer and digital artist with extensive experience with outdoor and family sessions. She will be heading our sales and marketing department and handling our outdoor sessions. A Change is in the air...

Well we are all eagerly anticipating the change in the weather here in Phoenix. We will quickly be returning to the real reason why we live in Arizona - the beautiful weather, windows down, and the envy of most of the United States when they are digging out from 4 foot high snow drifts. This is my favorite time of the year when the weather changes. In light of the season change, and the uncertain economic change that is paralizing our country right now, I decided it is time to readjust my business and take on a bit of change a little closer to home. One of the biggest steps it taking on Cherise. I really felt I owe it to my clients to offer the specialized service of helping you with the tough decisions when it comes to picking your pictures. So often I hear "There are so many great pictures I love, I just don't know where to begin." So instead of beginning, it is put off until another time and then before you know it it has been several months and your "baby" still sits on the computer (along with all your other digital files!) and not out where you can show him or her off to your friends and family. For those of you who fit this bill to a "T" (and you know who you are!!) the Post Session Review will be a invaluable service for you.
Now I mentioned it a bit last month, but I have actually put some other changes into place starting this month. The first change is to my prices. Don't panic! If you love your Celebrating Life Baby Series and are still within your 2 year timeframe, you don't need to change anything. I will still continue with your sessions just as you know them. But for those of you that are new or that love referring me to your friends or if you think this new system works better for you than here is my simplification of my pricing...
First off the session fee for all of my services will change to $150. This fee covers the private 2 hour session in my studio, my expertise in posing and lighting, editing, touch-ups (basic and extensive), and internet viewing/ordering once you have returned for your post session followup meeting and of course my 100% money back elation guarantee on all of my products and services.

Adding to the Bunch!

I am very excited to announce that we are adding a new person to our crew! Cherise Kiel is coming on board to help me with my promotions, marketing, and sales! What this means for you is more CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Cherise will be available to meet with you and get your photos off the internet and onto your walls! The best part of this fantastic new addition to the "Bunch" is that Cherise is also an incredibly talented photographer! Yeah! This means that not only are you getting the personalized attention you deserve but her advice and knowledge is coming from a professional photographer that really has a fantastic eye for detail and style. And she will be an invaluable asset as we enter the Holiday Season! Hopefully we will be going from the typical 2-3 week appointment delay to a much shorter appointment turnaround.

New Photo Prop

A client of mine showed me a great prop that she found at Wal-Mart. I thought it was so adorable I went out and got my own for the studio. I came home and took about 2 minutes with Ava to see how it photographed. It was a spur of the moment kind of thing so I didn't dress Ava to the "t" but these turned out pretty cute.

This last weekend I had my Celebrating Color special session at Mon Bebe Decor. What a fantastic turnout. The theme used my black backdrop with a splash of color - either blue jeans, a flower, a shirt, etc. The kids were really great and seemed to work well under the pressure of strange eyes watching them during their time on the backdrop.

I am so excited for next month's session on October 11th. The theme is Celebrating Halloween. I just love Halloween! It will be so fun seeing all my little ghosts, goblins, and princesses! I haven't finalized the setup yet, but I will definitely be using my black backdrop, with some pumpkin props. I am really thinking I want a vintage look, but I am still working out the details.

This session will also incorporate my relationship with http://www.inababycarriage.com/. We are going to be working together using one of her halloween designs and the chosen pose to create Halloween cards. Again, the details are still being worked out, but how much fun will that be to send off custom Halloween cards with your child's picture on them!
